Welcome to the Jefferson County History Wiki!
The Jefferson County History Wiki is dedicated to preserving our county's heritage for use by our schools to enrich the content of social studies and history classes. This work is a collaboration of social studies teachers, the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Adult Leadership class, and county leaders. As more and more of our heritage is lost with the passing of each generation, we want to capture the lore of our communities through photographs, writing, and interviews. Materials are being collected from many resources across the county. The opportunity to post to this wiki is by invitation only. However, if you have materials that would be beneficial to education of our students, please contact Jan Coley.

As one walks down the streets of the quiet communities of Jefferson County, the wealth of history is not apparent to the average citizen. We want to resurrect stories our heritage and the life that our county forefathers experienced.

Keep coming back, great info is on the way!

I looked at a Book about Jefferson County in a Doctors office and I was wondering where I could purchase a copy of one ? The book had photos and captions of Jefferson County past, present, and future. If you could please let me know I would appreciate it very much.
